Biography

Roos van Herrewegen (2002) is studying classical singing at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Nikki Treurniet, where she will complete her bachelor's degree in June 2027 through an accelerated three-year track.

Her musical foundation was laid at an early age at the Cathedral Choir School Utrecht and with the National Choirs (including the development program De TUIN under the direction of Irene Verburg). With these choirs, Roos won the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award in 2023. Parallel to her musical education, she completed a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.

Roos is now establishing herself as a soloist. She sang the role of Voice 1 in The Knife of Dawn at Dutch National Opera, performed a live broadcast solo with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and has appeared in renowned venues such as TivoliVredenburg and the Concertgebouw. In addition, she is a sought-after ensemble singer and regularly participates in projects with Cappella Amsterdam.

Roos has taken masterclasses with prominent figures such as Sasja Hunnego, Floris Visser, Jard van Nes, Peter Kooij, and Nelly Miricioiu. At the conservatoire, she is currently immersing herself in a broad repertoire, ranging from the Baroque period to Late Romanticism.
